We are excited to be re-branding The Erindale College Learning Support Unit as The Erindale College Compass Program. The LSU began in 2018 and has doubled in size this year increasing to 16 students with varying programming needs and interests. We are a proud part of the college community and together with the students we have created a logo to establish identity within the college environment.
The Compass Program is designed to support students with special needs. It provides individualised and diverse learning pathways that promote self-sufficiency and enable our students to acquire the skills they need to succeed in school, work and relationships. We do this through personalised pastoral care, inclusive educational programs, and small group instruction. Compass Program students are encouraged to engage in a mix of mainstream classes, small group Compass Program classes and reverse inclusion classes. All Compass classes are BSSS courses that have been modified to cater to the needs and strengths of the students in the cohort.
We encourage students to access the college at their full capacity, building skills, peer and mentor relationships and community networks through the two years at college to prepare for a productive and supported transition out program for year 12 students.
Uniforms are not compulsory, however for those students wishing to purchase please complete and print the Compass Uniform Order Form. Order forms will also be sent home with your young person.
