Erindale College’s Talented Dance Program (TDP) is an elite program of excellence designed to extend and develop the talents of dance students in the performing arts. Students are taught by a highly qualified, professionally trained and experienced dance teacher, as well as guest choreographers. The program focuses on dance performance, technique, strength, flexibility and fitness. Developing and improving skills in creating compositions and developing and perfecting skills in understanding dance theory.

TDP students will continually work to further develop in their dance technique, grow their skills in choreography, be taught to think as an analytical dancer and extend their performance quality skills. Dancers will gain skills in a broad range of dance styles and techniques. Including but not limited to ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, commercial, street dance and world styles. This exposure to a wide range of dance genres is important for developing well rounded professional dancers, who want to further their career in dance. TDP assists students with developing showreels, dance CV's and preparing for auditions when applying for tertiary dance institutions, and other careers in the field of dance.

Application Process

Prospective students must submit a completed expression of interest form to the college, as well as attend an audition (workshop style format). The audition will include a technique section, combinations in several styles and a short interview. Dancers will also be asked to present a 1-minute solo in a style of their choice, showcasing their skills and passion for dance. Audition pieces may be sent digitally only if audition cannot be attended. Students’ academic transcripts as well as references from dance teachers will form part of the application. Suitable students will then be offered a place at Erindale College subject to vacancies.
